When will we learn?

We had JUST gotten Braeden onto seriously the BEST sleep schedule...literally just...we had about 4 days of it after our return from Calgary. He was sleeping better than he had in FOREVER (as in before we moved from Calgary to here).

After nearly two weeks of being up countless times each night and/or laying there listening to him cry himself back to sleep he finally, finally finally! settled on this perfect sleeping schedule. He would go to bed between 830-900pm and sleep with maybe one interruption during the night all the way until 8am the next morning! That was the best!

We go away for what only three days in Bathurst and now he is not sleeping AGAIN. This morning was the worst as he was up off and on crying his little eyes out from 4am on and by 7am we had no choice but to get up with him as he just couldn't fall back asleep that time.

I have to admit we are both getting so upset and annoyed by this. We keep screwing up our son by the things we do...moving across the damn country, not living in our own place for 3 months and then moving out here and trying to get used to a new life and then taking a trip to Calgary and then a little trip to Bathurst which shouldn't have even been a big thing but apparently it was. Ridiculous. We were in the same time zone and it was only a short trip- what's the big deal? Why did it affect him like this?

So we are again, extremely tired out and stressed out and annoyed and wishing that we would learn to quit screwing up our poor child.

Braeden we are so very sorry for continuing to do this to you.....

As long as your love and care for him is consistent, he will be okay. Peace, girl.

Hey I know where you are coming from. In Bran's 5 months he has been to Vancouver 3 times, to Kamloops probably close to 10, and to a few other places. Every month we are gone so it is hard to keep him on a routine....We just get him settled then he's screwed up again. But we have learned babies re-adjust quickly as long as you have patience and love for them. Travel is hard on adults (not being in your own space and bed) so it is the same for babies! We do our best to stick ot the same routine while away, and really now when we get back home, in 3 days he's back to "normal". Everything is twice as hard on babies as us, so its all okay!
